Welcoming Moses

Just the other day we where in Jinja, about 2 hours away. We where at Redeemer House and the director said we should go  and help a man with his roof. Sounds like a simple task and I am always eager to meet and visit with new people.

Moses
Moses was his name and little did I know how much he would touch my heart. Adding some new tin to his roof was a huge task for him. Looking at him in the picture he looks normal. He has what appears to be Polio and has zero use of his legs. He moves around by walking with his hands and drags his knees across the red dirt. I never knew that leg bones could be that small on a man. but always a smile on his face.

Moses is not a peddler, beggar, or looking for a hand out. He is an man of God, inventor, a man who cares for his family. He is a baker and an auntrapanure. Not only is he wanting to provide for his family, he is wanting to make so much bread that he provides jobs for others. He has built a industrial sized mixer out of a car axle and a small engine. Yes he designed and built it himself. Oh and his oven, he built it. He is 33 years old 3 kids from 18month to 7 years old. He mixes, and bakes the bread. Then on his three wheeled motor bike he goes to market and sells the bread.

A man without the use of his legs.

What did you do today? What was our excuse? Who should fill pity on me? I had no time I have to deal with the kids. I have too many things to do today. This is what started going through my head while talking to this very happy man of God. All he could do is give the glory to God. he knew he had a disability but that was not going to stop him. The only thing that could stop this man was God.

Why?
Because he is following God.

Moses Welcome to our life.
