Overwhelmed

We finally have Jethro's passport ordered and our plane tickets bought, we are well on our way to Uganda.
As our time here in the U.S. comes to a close, I feel more stressed than ever.
My list of things to do and things we still need are VERY long.
I feel like I am running out of time
and I am.
We have to move everything out of the house we are living in.
Raise all of our support
Find a non-profit CPA
Buy things that we will need in Uganda that they do not have there.
Get summer shoes for Jethro.
Move storage units.
Sell our Land Cruiser, our little truck and our rafting gear (sad day)
Find out how we are we going to get to Uganda with only 2 bags each.
and the list goes on and on.
on top of all that, we are leaving family and friends that we love so much.
We do not know when we will see them again but I know we will miss them.
Oh how we have enjoyed the wonderful memories we have made over the past 6 months.

Gina (my mom) and Jethro at the Balloon Fiesta
Jethro, Mia and My Grandmother
Shawn and Jethro on his first ski lift
Me and Tiffany camping with LOTS of bubble gum

Jethro, Cylas and Cousin Bryan

Uncle Philip and Jethro riding on the safest Boda Boda

Jethro and Uncle Ron

The whole Whitworth Clan in Texas
God has called us to leave our family and friends to follow Him.
We are happy to follow Him but I am so overwhelmed with it all.
We will miss them terribly and
just imagine you are moving to another house and all you can take is 2, 50 pound bags each,
including all the ministry stuff we need.
I know Shawn and I pack light but this is REALLY light.

As we prepare to get all the physical things taken care of,
I know God is taking care of me.
Just today, as we purchased our plane tickets, I became so overwhelmed I couldn't even talk without getting overwhelmed and then I would shut down.
I didn't think we could get it done,
but our God is bigger that all that.
Just today we:
talked with a non-profit CPA and he will do our taxes,
sold our rafting gear,
got two calls on our little truck,
a friend of ours wants to throw a benefit dinner for us,
and I now have a great peace about EVERYTHING.
Thank you God for your continued hand over our lives and our move to Uganda.
We continue to live by faith and trust in you for everything.

  4. These last few months have flown by. I am so thankful I could fly to Nashville and be with the kids. I got to take them to some of the places I loved back East. Seeing Billies family from North Carolina to Ohio to Michigan. Everyone falling in love with our little jethro. God has not just blessed Shawn and Sarah with a beautiful little boy but has also bless each one of us. They have traveled to California to my sisters to talk to her church about their mission and to try and get sponsors to help them monthly. They are going on faith to a country we cannot even imagine what is like to share the love God has for the street kids and prostitutes that need to know that there is the one true God that will love them eternally. I have been with them when they make their presentations and cry every time when I see the love they have for these women and children. When they leave this time for so much longer, my heart will break until I can see them again. But I do know this, the God I know is always in control and He will take care of them and bless them beyond amything we can imagine. I love you Shawn,Sarah and My Little Jethro. Please be careful and come home safe. You will be in my prayers every day. If you can't afford to help financially then please support them daily with you prayers.

  5. These past 7 months that I have been helping Shawn, Sarah and little Jethro out by selling the crafts and necklaces have been so rewarding for me. The kids came to Bakersfield to be part of our Women's Ministry Kick off back in Sept. The people who attended of course fell in Love with Mr. Jethro. Jethro fell in love with Adriono not sure of the spelling who works in the office at Valley Baptist Church. Jethro loved her because she had candy. It was so sweet on this past Monday when she got to talk to him, I think her heart melted when he told her he loved her. With selling there Ugandan things I have not only raised money for them but have been able to share there story to people I am sure are not Christians. I will do what ever it takes to help them out not just finacially but to help share their Love for the people of Uganda. Please pray that GOD would place a burden on your heart to help them out with maybe a monthly gift of any amount or maybe a one time gift. If you are not lead to give please pray for them as they leave the end of December to go back and follow GOD'S CALLING. I LOVE YOU MR. JETHRO, SARAH AND SHAWN. MAY GOD PLACE A HEAD OF PROTECION AROUND YOU ALL. AUNT DEBBIE IN BAKERSFIELD YOUR, FAVORITE SALES LADY. Shawn you know your DAD would be so proud of you guys, I am glad Billie taught me how to raise money. If people tell you no don't be offended and give them one of your cards and remember you never know if you or I might have planted a seed in someones Life.

  6. Hi Shawn and Sarah,

I didn't have any way of getting in touch with you other than this, but it's Corrie Egli; your fellow Sanyu dweller & Colorado native! I wanted to let you know how thankful I am that you are Jethro's parents. I still pray for him often. I'll be praying for the Lord's wisdom and guidance as you head back to Uganda. May he give you refuge in the shadow of the most high and GREAT adventure! I hope that our paths cross again one day and I can see and hear about how the Lord has been faithful in your life and has grown Jethro into a man after His own heart. Blessings!

    Corrie :)
